Rick Pitino's Louisville Cardinals will be competing for a National Championship appearance as they square off against John Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats tomorrow night.

Pitino, who has been a huge part of basketball coaching for the past two decades, was elected as one of the possible finalists for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame about a month ago. However, today, it was announced he did not make the cut, according to ESPN New York.

"He was very disappointed," a source told ESPN New York. "He thought his chances were good."

Pitino started off his career with Providence before leading the Knicks into the playoffs in 1989. He would then return to the college field and coach Kentucky.

Since then, Pitino is the only coach to lead teams to three Final Four appearances. Best of luck to you, Rick, tomorrow night.
