The USA National Team made some final additions to their squad, announcing today that Oklahoma City Thunder guard James Harden and former Kentucky forward Anthony Davis will be on there competing in this summer's Olympics in London.

"It’s a tremendous honor to be this young and have a chance to represent my country," Davis told the Boston Herald. "This is a great opportunity and I’m excited to be a part of something like this."

Davis is the only player on the team not currently on an NBA team. However, once the training begans on July 6, Davis will already have been drafted in the NBA, looking to be the No.1 overall pick.

The Olympic games began on July 27 and it will be going through August 12.

"After a lot of deliberations, after reviewing our roster, we think these two additions strengthen our National Team program immeasurably," said Jerry Colangelo, USA Basketball chairman. "James Harden probably is the sixth man of the year in the NBA, and Anthony Davis brings a dimension to our pool we don’t have. He’s young, but it’s exciting to think about the possibilities."

Davis helped lead the No. 1-ranked Kentucky Wildcats to the National Championship, in which they ended up winning over Kansas. Harden has been solid thus far this season, as Colangelo mentioned, will probably be this year's Sixth Man.

The USA team definitely could use these guys. With Dwight Howard done for the season, they needed an extra big man and Davis fills in that role. Harden fills in the role of another scoring option now with Derrick Rose out as well.

Great additions for the team.
