When the Seattle Seahawks signed Matt Flynn, they believed he would be the future of their team.

However, they still had Tarvaris Jackson on board. Then, after the Flynn signing, they grabbed Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson off the board in the third round.

As the reports have said for the past few weeks, it has been mainly Flynn and Jackson competing for the starting job. However, now it seems Wilson has joined in on the position-battle.

According to head coach Pete Carroll, Wilson will be competing in the training-camp battle with both QB's:

He showed us enough,” coach Pete Carroll announced Sunday, per Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times. “He’s in the competition.” Carroll credited Wilson for a “terrific arm,” and praised the rookie quarterback’s preparation before rookie camp.

“He did an excellent job of demonstrating that he prepared for this,” Carroll insisted.

Carroll was hoping Wilson can impress during rookie minicamps so he can compete for the starting job. For the former Badgers QB, he made Wilson's prediction come true.

“I’d hoped that, and we confirmed it in these three days,” Carroll said. “He left really no question about he needs to be involved in the competition.”

Wilson had an amazing career in college and plans to translate that into the pros. Many questioned his ability, due to his size at 5-11 and 204 pounds. However, he is very accurate and pretty athletic. Why else did Carroll draft him? He wasn't brought in to be a third-stringer.

With all of this happening, I expect Wilson to be a second- or third-stringer. With that, it looks like Jackson will most likely be the odd man out.
