When Derek Fisher was traded to the Houston Rockets at the trade deadline, many wondered if he would continue his NBA career as he would soon be bought out.

He did and garnered interest from many championship teams, most notably the Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat.

Fisher says he decided to go with OKC, as it was the better fit for him. Miami was also looking for a big man instead.

He tells NBA.com:

"It just wasn't the right fit for me. [Heat president] Pat [Riley] is a straight shooter. He let (me) know they were looking for a big guy, and that they were happy with Norris Cole and Mario Chalmers. So me and my people continued to look at other options and it led me here."

Fisher has got himself in a good place now, going against the team that really didn't want him. He'll be getting his sixth ring if the Thunder end up winning.
