The Baltimore Ravens have been in contract talks for a while with franchise quarterback Joe Flacco.

However, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the talks have been shelved for the rest of the year.

Both sides were working towards a long-term agreement in the first week of August and got very close to finalization before talks got shelved again.

Since then, according to Schefter, they haven't talked for six weeks since almost finalizing a deal. Flacco has thus far been pretty impressive since Week 1 and if he can continue that, he could get the contract he's been waiting for.

Flacco is in the last year of his contract, so talks could resume after the season is over. If things don't work out, Baltimore does have the right to franchise-tag him.

If talks were to resume again, Schefter reports that the contracts would have to be re-worked all over again.
