Myles-Jack-UCLA-November-2013
Yeah, you read the headline correctly.

UCLA’s freshman linebacker Myles Jack won the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week award for his six-carry, 120 yard, one-touchdown performance against Arizona. Those were his first 6 carries of the year.

As a linebacker this year, Jack has been solid for the Bruins as well. Jack has recorded 62 tackles, five for a loss, one interception, a fumble recovery, 10 pass deflections and a blocked kick on the year.

Coming out of high school, Jack was a highly recruited athlete, but decided he like to hit people more than he liked to get hit, which is why he chose UCLA over the other high profile schools recruiting him.

He still prefers to play linebacker, saying, "I like to hit. I like to tackle people. People like Brett."

Jack said that South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Georgia all recruited him to play running back instead of linebacker.

UCLA’s running game has been pretty bad this year, so expect Myles Jack to get a lot more action in the backfield in the next few games. Jack is one of UCLA’s better defensive players, and he’s emerging as the team’s best running back too.

Talk about a two-way player.
