Damian Lillard is the face of the Portland Trail Blazers and an All-Star, but he’s also a realist. Team USA isn’t about the NBA’s Western Conference.

Team USA encompasses the best players in the game, and Lillard just so happens to play the most stacked position.

The Blazers star told CBS Sports Radio’s Jody MacDonald he’s skipping Team USA’s minicamp in Las Vegas next month, and his reason could lead to some debate.

Are you headed to Vegas next month?

Umm, probably not.

Why not?

I did it the last few summers. Last summer I didn’t make it, so I don’t know why I would go. If I got cut last summer, I don’t think I’m a part of it.

Lillard was cut from last summer’s roster just before Team USA went to Spain, and similar to John Wall he feels snubbed.

USA Basketball chose Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving and Derrick Rose as their point guards last summer.
