"Scarface" is coming back to the big screen, and Universal Pictures is calling on the big guns to help round out the script.

According to Variety, Joel and Ethan Coen will take the lead for “Scarface” reimagining set to hit theaters August 10, 2018.
Variety first reported that Antoine Fuqua left the project as director, but sources reveal that the studio is very close to landing a new helmer. Diego Luna, who starred in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” is attached to reprise the role made famous by Al Pacino in Brian De Palma’s classic.

It’s not the Coen brothers’ first go-round doctoring a major script–the Oscar-winning duo were recently hired to polish Angelina Jolie’s “Unbroken” as well as Steven Spielberg’s “Bridge of Spies.”
Most of the original production team will return as well, with Martin Bregman, who produced the 1983 original, returning along with several executives as well.
