Dana White holds all the cards for a potential superfight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, and he’s not playing his hand.

The direction of the fight is now heading upwards, after White said on Wednesday that he wouldn’t stand in the way of such a fight. That’s code for as long as the UFC gets its cut. In an appearance on “Conan,” he admitted that a bout between the superstar fighters will eventually come together.

“I do think it’s going to happen. I think it’s going to be a tough deal, because, obviously, there are a lot of egos involved in this deal and a lot of people, so that always make it tougher.

“(But) on the flip side, there’s so much money involved, I just don’t see how it doesn’t happen.”

And there lies the problem: all that money. White’s optimism has changed, with the UFC President saying back in December that, "It ain’t happening.”
