I’m not sure this is fair at all, as the school is truly punishing the young lady and her classmates, not the Pro Bowl running back.
Pittsburgh Steelers star Le'Veon Bell agreed to accompany Wisconsin teen Ava Tarantino to her prom after her invitation went viral. Now her dream won’t be realized because of the Waukesha School District, who seems to deem the gesture inappropriate.
The school district has banned Bell from attending because he’s over 19 years of age, and most likely, because he arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana, according to Annysa Johnson of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
“You can Google Mr. Bell,” spokeswoman Terry Schuster said. “We have to be equitable in the way we treat our students. We don’t even know if this is a real commitment.”
Bell handled it as smooth as he does on handoffs, agreeing to still attend as he told Tarantino that he intends to bring his family, mother and girlfriend, who will do Tarantino’s makeup for the big event.
