Andrew Bogut January 2013

The Golden State Warriors, who had been in all but four games without starting center Andrew Bogut, might see him return to action tonight against the Toronto Raptors, according to Marcus Thompson II of the Mercury News.

The Warriors, who acquired Bogut in a trade last March from the Milwaukee Bucks, have been one of the league's biggest surprises so far. They are 26-17, which is good enough for fifth in the Western Conference.

In 73 minutes played this season, Bogut has scored 24 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked four shots.  His return, no doubt, will give the Warriors a big boost. The last time the team saw Bogut in uniform was 70 days ago.

Bogut was drafted with the No. 1 overall pick by the Bucks in the 2005 NBA draft. In his eighth season as a pro, Bogut has averaged 12 points per game, 9.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 32.6 minutes.

After playing just four games this season and 16 games in the 2010-2011 compressed lockout season, it’s unclear how big of a impact Bogut will give the Warriors right away. But when healthy, the 28-year-old is one of the best defensive centers and could also score on his own.

We'll see how he does tonight.
