I started FootBasket.com way back in 2009 as a 12-year-old. I always had a passion for writing and sports, and it propelled me to where I am today.

I am now 25 years old and completed my law school education as of last Friday. My graduation is set for this week. Hopefully about four months from now, I will be licensed with the bar.

FootBasket has helped lead me to where I am today, as I have gained skills over with writing, business, entrepreneurship, research, website development, coding, and—believe it or not—being a lawyer.

I've had legal issues come up with this site in the past, and I am curious how different it all could have been with the education that I gained. I was also an IT/computer science type major during undergrad, which FootBasket helped me excel at.

This past year, I had been involved with intellectual property for my legal experience and internships. While applying for trademarks for the company I worked with, I decided to see what could happen if I could trademark the project that helped start it all for me.

As of March 2022, FootBasket was officially trademarked. It was published and accepted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a sports blog and sports news source.

While I am sure no one is going to try to steal this name and try to emulate what I did, it was kind of a symbolic thing for me. It's almost as if this is a full-circle type of moment.

As I continue this journey, I appreciate my readers always checking out this site, as well as the great partners and clients I have gained over the years through this.

I am not sure what the future of this site holds, to be honest with you. I never intended for this to be my career, but man it has been a great hobby and passion of mine. I hope to continue delivering articles here when I can.

As for now, at least I know this site is protected—legally.
