It's been two weeks since Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas suffered a brutal broken leg injury that put an end to his season. Regarded as the heart and soul of the defense, it was a huge blow for the Seahawks' season.

Another big thing that came out of it was when Thomas announced he was thinking about retirement, despite the fact that he is still in his prime at 27 years old.

Thomas appeared on The Rich Eisen Show recently, and was asked if he was still pondering about leaving the NFL.
“Yeah, I’m enjoying waking up in the mornings without the pressure. Peace is starting to return to me … That’s my ultimate goal in life is just wanting to have peace. But I can say when I went back to the VMAC (training facility) the other day, my competitive juices came right back. So I don’t know, man. I’m kind of caught in between right now.

“Of course emotions were taking over me, but I was still thinking clearly in my eyes. Like I said, I still kind of feel the same way. It’s a lot of pressure when you play in this game … It’s all about recommitting myself and I don’t know.”
Thomas' contract with Seattle runs through 2018.
