The New Orleans Hornets have won the NBA Draft Lottery, meaning they have won the Anthony Davis sweepstakes.

New Orleans got the lucky bounce of the ping-pong balls. They had a 14.8% chance of winning the pick to start out with.

Along with that, they also hold the 10th pick in the draft. What a great chance to vastly improve the roster with this great draft class.

They will now have Anthony Davis, who I think is the best player to come out since LeBron James, and a player like Damian Lilliard from Weber State.

You can believe now that Eric Gordon is on his way to sign a new contract with New Orleans with the latest news now. Gordon and Davis will surely become a top young duo in the NBA.

This does bring out some noise about David Stern rigging the draft, however. Stern use to own the Hornets and just gave it over to New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson. New Orleans also lost their best player in Chris Paul, and many believe this is to make up for it.

The same thing happened to the Cleveland Cavaliers when they lost LeBron James. Then, they ended up with the No. 1 pick last year in the lottery, creating a conspiracy.. Now, this just fuels the fire even more.

Do you think Stern is rigging the draft?

Even if he did or not, the Hornets now have a bright future led by Davis. Look for him to make New Orleans basketball alive again with excitement after the energy was sucked out with CP3 trade to the Clippers.

Expect many highlight plays from Davis along with the Hornets maybe sneaking into the playoffs as the eighth seed next year with their young nucleus of talent.

Monty Williams, keep grinning: you now have Anthony Davis as one of your building blocks.
