Deron Williams' days are numbered with the Brooklyn Nets, with himself most likely leaving the team in a trade or via free agency this summer after they failed to secure a lottery pick.

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking for many ways to improve their team and are looking to possibly ship off Pau Gasol in a deal.

Williams talked to the Los Angeles Times, hinting that he could head to the Lakers this off-season:

"As far as the Lakers are concerned, Williams appeared well aware that the Lakers' payroll is limited. "I know they don't have any money to just go out and sign me," Williams said. "It'll have to be some kind of deal."

"I used to hate them. They pushed us out of the playoffs three years in a row," Williams said of the Lakers, referring to when they beat Williams'  Utah Jazz each postseason from 2008 through 2010. "We'll see."

Would Williams be open to joining any team via sign-and-trade? "I don't know," Williams said with a smile.

Los Angeles would be extremely dangerous if they were able to get D-Will. The Lakers did reportedly offer Pau Gasol in a sign-and-trade to Brooklyn, but they denied. It's a given that he wants to go there, but the question is how?

However, if things don't succeed there, Los Angeles would probably stick with Ramon Sessions then at point guard; however, they will try to go after a small forward instead. That person could be Minnesota Timberwolves' Michael Beasley.

According to Lakers Nation, Los Angeles could trade Jordan Hill to the T-Wolves in order to acquire Beasley:

According to sources close to the Timberwolves organization, Minnesota General Manager David Kahn told team owner Glen Taylor that the team was interested in pursuing a sign-and-trade with the Lakers in July.

One name that the team is reportedly interested in is Jordan Hill – the backup big man who played well for the Lakers in limited minutes since being acquired from the Houston Rockets in March.

Beasley would fit well also with the Lakers. He can play both forward positions and has shown improvement since he was traded to Minnesota from Miami before the 2011 season.

Los Angeles has an interesting off-season planned for them. Either of these trades work since they are able to fill in at least one of the two needs: a good point guard or small forward.
