The new-look
Houston Astros are in the headlines by announcing that they have acquired former
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher
Philip Humber off waivers.
Humber spent the last two seasons pitching in Chicago before joining the Astros on Friday. When you go back and look at his career with the White Sox, Humber will most known for his excellent pitching versus the
Seattle Mariners back on April 21. On that date, Humber had a perfect game, also striking out nine batters.
Humber was 14-14 and struck out a total of 201 batters in 54 games with the White Sox in his two seasons there. According to Astros' official website, they currently list Humber as the teams No. 4 starting pitcher behind
Lucas Harrell,
Bud Norris and
Jordan Lyles.
