Antawn-Jamison-2013

The Los Angeles Clippers made a ton of major moves last month.

First, they were able to acquire Doc Rivers as their new head coach. By doing that, they were able to keep superstar point guard Chris Paul on the roster, who eventually signed a $107 million deal with the team. After that, they landed point guard Darren Collison as their new backup point guard in free agency and received J.J. Redick and Jared Dudley via trade.

With a stacked team in place, the Clippers look like they could be in for a major championship run next season. But can they get it done?

Lakers free agent forward Antawn Jamison has seen this type of situation before.

Last season looked like we could have seen Jamison in his first NBA Finals appearance with the stacked squad Los Angeles had with Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, Metta World Peace and Pau Gasol on the roster.

However, Los Angeles barely ended up finishing with the seventh seed, thanks to a late-season run to the playoffs. Kobe then ended up tearing his Achilles tendon, and the rest is history.

It doesn't look like the Lakers will get back those championship hopes anytime soon with a starting lineup of Nash, Jodie Meeks, Nick Young, Gasol and Chris Kaman to start out next season. With that, we shouldn't expect to see Jamison staying.

But could Jamison be heading to the other Los Angeles team, the Clippers? According to Marc J. Spears of  Yahoo! Sports, Jamison will be meeting with Rivers tonight.

Last season, Jamison averaged about nine points and five rebounds per game on 46-percent shooting from the field. The 6-foot-9 sharpshooter has averaged about 18 points and eight rebounds per game on 45-percent shooting for his career.

The Clippers can definitely use Jamison, as he can bring some nice scoring off the bench when he fills in for either Blake Griffin or DeAndre Jordan.

Jamison will be entering his 16th season in the NBA, and at 37 years of age his time is ending up the league. Expect him to sign with the Clippers as he goes for one last championship run possibly.
