Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith scored a goal on Saturday night against the Detroit Red Wings with 0.1 seconds left in regulation.

Take a look:

The 31-year-old Smith becomes the seventh goalie in NHL history to score a goal with an actual shot attempt, though others have been credited. Smith, who had a breakout season last year for the Coyotes, has a 4-2-2 record thus far, posting a 2.83 GAA and a .916 save percentage in his third year as Phoenix's starter.

Smith, known as one of the best puck-handling goalies in the world, joins Ron Hextall (1987, 1989), Chris Osgood (1996), Martin Brodeur (1997), Jose Theodore (2001) and Evgeni Nabokov (2002) as the only goalies to ever score on a shot attempt.
