Jonathan-Martin-November-2013
It seems we have a suspect in the alleged bullying and harassment of Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin.

According to ESPN.com, the NFLPA is looking into Dolphins guard Richie Incognito’s role into alleged harassment of Martin. According to sources, there is an incident under review by the NFL Players Association that may have provoked Martin to leave the team.

There seems to be two different sides, and two different stories to the allegations. ESPN is reporting that one high-ranking Dolphins official defended Incognito as a “model citizen” and was “mystified” by such allegations against Incognito.

Other unnamed sources have stated that Incognito was involved, and said the incident was not single event, and the harassment goes all the way back to 2012, when Martin was a second-round draft pick by the team.

One source said any emotional issues Martin is experiencing are directly related to his harassment.
An NFL spokesman stated the league was monitoring the matter and has been in contact with the Dolphins since Martin left the team. On Friday, Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said, “This is something we take very seriously and will not be tolerated.”

Union sources say the union will continue to conduct a thorough and detailed review that would extend to the team’s workplace environment and affected players, noting the juxtaposition that it represents all NFL players, including Martin and Incognito.

Nevertheless, sources say NFLPA attorneys already have gathered numerous details relating to the allegations that identify Incognito prominently as one of the offenders. Incognito was not available for comment, and Philbin did not mention the veteran as an alleged culprit.
