In just his second season, Davis was cementing his place atop the list of the best young players in the NBA.
Entering Sunday’s game, Davis was leading the league with 3.9 blocks per game. On top of that, he was averaging 19.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. His PER rating of 28.35 was second in the league, just behind LeBron James.
Davis missed 18 games last year due to injuries, so hopefully this isn’t a trend for the Pelicans big man.
With Davis out, Ryan Anderson will see an increased role for New Orleans.
