New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is scheduled to have surgery this Thursday, a source tells the Associated Press. The source spoke as anonymous about the Gronk news, as the Patriots have yet to announce that he will have surgery.Gronkowski injured his knee during the seventh game of the 2013 NFL season. The star tight end tore his ACL and MCL, ending his season.
Gronkowski was on pace for a Pro Bowl year until the injury, catching 39 passes for 592 yards and four touchdowns this season.
The Pats will be hosting the 12-5 Indianapolis Colts this week in the Divisional Round of the 2014 NFL Playoffs. Tom Brady could definitely his guy in Gronk for this game.
This has been yet another season Gronkowski has had his year cut short to injury. Many are starting to wonder if his NFL career will now end up the same way after so much wear-and-tear.
