kyrie mvp all star 2014

The Eastern Conference was down by 18 at one point to the West, but they rallied to a 163-155 comeback victory in the 2014 NBA All-Star Game, the highest-scoring All-Star Game in NBA history. Kyrie Irving was voted the Kia MVP, leading the East with 31 points and 14 assists. He had 24 points in the second half alone.

Irving went off in the fourth quarter, helping the East mount a comeback. Irving was hot, making shots left and right, including these two plays where he fooled Dwight Howard and Anthony Davis. Irving became the first Cleveland Cavaliers player to win the ASG MVP since LeBron James in 2008.

The team went crazy towards the ending of the game, as Kevin Durant and LeBron James went one-on-one with each other. Neither of them did much, particularly Durant. KD went absolutely cold in the final two minutes, helping the East get to a large lead and close out the game.

Carmelo Anthony put the dagger on it with about a minute left, hitting a clutch 3-pointer to basically end the game. Anthony broke the All-Star Game record for most 3s, having eight of them. Six other records were broken, which can be read here. The eighth came with the score, 163-155, being the highest combined in history.

It was a crazy game overall, and it was a fun one to watch.
