Woodson was 109-79 record as coach of the Knicks. He helped lead them to the second seed in the East last season, only to become the ninth seed and out of the postseason this year.
The Knicks will now begin a big offseason as Phil Jackson plans to hire a guy like Steve Kerr as the new coach while also trying to lure Carmelo Anthony to stay with the franchise.
