Before trading for New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles, the Philadelphia Eagles reportedly had their eyes set on another running back. According to CSN Philly, it was Buffalo Bills' CJ Spiller.

Philadelphia reportedly contacted the Bills on the star Pro Bowl running back. Of course, the Bills rejected the offer and had no interest in trading away Spiller.

The talks never heightened to an offer, but the Eagles had interest in Spiller as they were planning to part ways with DeSean Jackson.

The Eagles liked Spiller for his ability to run the ball and his solid pass-catching ability, which would fit well with Philly's offense. It would also help for the loss of Jackson, whom the Eagles released.

However, Philadelphia was able to get someone similar in Sproles and they appear to be good to go for next season with him.

Spiller, 26, has over 3,000 career rushing yards and over 1,000 receiving yards to go with 18 total touchdowns.
