gregg popovich april 2014Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs was the named the NBA's 2014 Coach of the Year on Tuesday, according to ESPN.

Popovich joins an exclusive club which includes Pat Riley and Don Nelson as the only three-time winners of the award. This is Pop's second award of the past three seasons.

This season by Popovich may have been the most impressive with an ailing Spurs team just coming off an NBA Finals loss to the Miami Heat. However, they still held together and became the No. 1 seed in the West along with the NBA's best record at 62-20.

This all happened while not a single player in the rotation played 30 minutes per game. Tony Parker led the team with about 29 minutes a game, which is absolutely an awesome system used by Pop this season.

San Antonio looks to congratulate their coach on Wednesday night as they take on the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 of their first round playoff series with them.
