Russell Westbrook
returned on Friday night and
put on a show for Oklahoma City Thunder fans. OKC fans will get another present just in time for holidays with news coming out that Kevin Durant is returning very soon.
It's been a little over six weeks since Durant had foot surgery, and he's on par with the six-to-eight week timetable to return.
According to NewsOK, he practiced on Saturday without having any setbacks with his foot.
With this, it all points to the reigning NBA MVP to make his return this week. Head coach Scott Brooks says he won't rule out the star small forward from Tuesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
“Don’t know,” Brooks said. “Don’t know. We just want to continue to put up good days on top of each other. We’ll let you know at the appropriate time.”
Following Tuesday's game in New Orleans, OKC also has two other games on the road for KD to debut in like Friday night versus the Philadelphia 76ers or on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons.
Also in more good news for OKC, rookie big man Mitch McGary also may make his season debut this week. McGary was solid in the summer league, but then went down with a fractured foot. He's been practicing this week without any issues.
The sky's the limit right now for the Thunder with their key players returning.
