The state of Arizona will welcome its third Super Bowl matchup when the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks square off in Super Bowl XLIX.
New England was involved in the last Super Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium, dropping a tightly contested 17-14 decision to the New York Giants.
A loss in Super Bowl XLII ended New England’s aspirations for the perfect 19-0 season, and stopped Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’s quest for football immorality.
Arizona also hosted Super Bowl XXX, which resulted in a 27-17 victory for the Dallas Cowboys over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Emmitt Smith ran for two touchdowns in the victory.
Luckily for Brady and Belichick, they’ll have a chance to avenge their loss in Super Bowl XLII. New England has appeared in six Super Bowls over the last 14 seasons, but has not won a Super Bowl since 2005.
Seattle’s quest for back-to-back Super Bowl titles and its billing as a dynasty will be on the line in Super Bowl XLIX. Currently, the
average secondary market price for Super Bowl tickets would make it the most expensive over the past six seasons.
According to TiqIQ, the average price for the game is currently $4,427.92. That average is 12.52 percent over the average price of last year’s game at MetLife Stadium at the same point.
The average is currently 5 percent above the average price of Super Bowl XLVI, the rematch between the Patriots and the Giants, which was the only Super Bowl since 2010 with an average price eclipsing $4,000.
The current get-in price of $2,100 for
Super Bowl tickets on TiqIQ would be the third highest of the past six Super Bowls, behind Super Bowl XLVI and Super Bowl XLV.
Both teams have overcome adversity during the regular season to wind up in the Super Bowl.
New England was able to keep Rob Gronkowski healthy and went an impressive 12-2 after suffering an embarrassing 41-14 loss in Week 4 to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Fans were wondering whether Brady could still play at a high level. Brady answered all of his critics en-route to this Super Bowl appearance.
Seattle placed 19 players on season-ending injured reserve, which was the third highest total in the NFL. Seattle traded away Percy Harvin in an effort to ignite its locker room and overcome a 6-4 start.
Expect both teams to play with a lot of intensity and emotion in Super Bowl XLIX.
