USA has won the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, defeating Japan with a dominating 5-2 victory.

USA opened up early with a 2-0 lead, thanks to two quick goals via Carli Lloyd within the first five minutes. Within 17 minutes, USA then had a 4-0 lead with goals from Lauren Holiday and a bomb from Lloyd again.

Japan slowly came back, making it 4-2 before USA had another goal to make it 5-2. That was essentially the dagger.

USA now won their third World Cup in its history, and their first since 1999. They were list in the big show back in 2011, losing to this Japan team. Now, they get revenge and in the perfect fashion.

Carli Lloyd was truly the MVP, and she outscored Japan all by herself with her three goals in total for the night.

A great victory by USA. The whole country is proud of them! Congrats, ladies, you deserve it.
