JaVale McGee is negotiating a contract with the Dallas Mavericks, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Dwain Price.

McGee will split time with center Zaza Pachulia.

“I think we need to get a center, obviously,” owner Mark Cuban said. “Zaza can play; don’t get me wrong. The guy can shoot. He can rebound, but it would be nice to have somebody who can play above the rim, so we’re looking at some of our options there.”

McGee only played six games for the Philadelphia 76ers and was waived on March 1 after averaging three points and 2.2 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game.
