The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t done trying to acquire assets, and are reportedly one of the few teams interested in acquiring Brendan Haywood from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"Cavs still discussing trade of Haywood contract with several teams, including Lakers, Suns, Clippers. Not talking Andy Varejao with anyone," reports Fox Sports' Sam Amico.

Haywood’s contract becomes guaranteed in a few weeks, and the team that acquires him will likely release him, saving $10 million in salary cap space. Haywood is likely to retire if waived, according to reports.

"Should Brendan Haywood be waived by Aug. 1st, he has no plans to retire, source tells ESPN. Has been working out w/ UNC alumni this summer," ESPN's Dave McMenamin writes.
