The Ax Man will be coming to a big screen near you.

Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter will portray an escaped slave in the new movie, "The North Star."

Bossip has the details:

RLJ Entertainmenthas acquired all rights for writer/director Thomas K. Phillips’ feature film “The North Star.” The film, which tells the story of of Benjamin “Big Ben” Jones and Moses Hopkins, two slaves who escaped from a Virginia plantation and made their way to freedom in Buckingham, Pennsylvania in 1849, will be released in theaters in September 2015, beginning its theatrical run in Philadelphia, where the movie was filmed. The movie will also be shown on UMC – Urban Movie Channel, and released on DVD and Digital HD in early 2016.

In addition to Trotter, cast members for include Clifton Powell, Lynn Whitfield, John Diehl, Keith David, Christopher Mann, and April Woodall.
