Nike Basketball is the king of the sneaker game, but some of their shine could be dwindling a bit.

While Nike has just recently signed D'Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns, other NBA players are joining other brands.

Houston Rockets star James Harden could be on his way to Adidas, and Under Armour is on the rise after the year Stephen Curry just had.

However, Nike is doing what they can to keep their sneaker monopoly intact. Here's what they are doing to prevent players from signing with Under Armour.

From Sole Collector:

Under Armour might be way behind Nike in its share of the basketball sneaker market (Nike is at about 96 percent right now) but that doesn't mean Nike isn't aware of its moves in the space.

Proof of that comes from CBS Sports, which is reporting that Nike has scheduled a summer basketball game this month that will coincide with Under Armour's annual Elite 24 high school basketball game. The 2015 Under Armour Elite 24 is scheduled for Aug. 20-22 and Nike now has high school game planned for Aug. 20-22. These sort of games are crucial for brands who want to begin the grooming process early and familiarize young players with the perks of signing with them.

This means that the top high school prospects in the country are already having to choose between Nike and Under Armour. What may make their decisions easier are the locales of the two: Under Armour's game is in NYC while Nike is flying players out to the Bahamas.
