Who needs the Georgia Dome, when you can play championship games at the Mercedes-Benz dome?

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Monday that the SEC and the Atlanta Falcons will announce a new 10-year agreement that will see the conference’s title game played in the Falcons’ new $1.4 billion stadium from 2017 through 2026.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank and SEC commissioner Greg Sankey are expected to be among those present at Tuesday’s announcement, which will take place at Atlanta’s new College Football Hall of Fame.

The SEC Championship Game has been played in the Georgia Dome since 1994, but the stadium will be demolished following the opening of the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2017.
