Paul Pierce made a bold statement following the Golden State Warriors' Game 2 NBA Finals win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, saying that Kevin Durant is the best basketball player in the world over LeBron James.

It was a controversial statement, as LeBron has been regarded as the No. 1 player in the world for at least a decade now. Many pundits are already saying this series is a changing of the guard between KD and LeBron.

Draymond Green was asked about the debate, and had this to say.

"LeBron is a great player, but KD is great," Green said. "I think KD is like a created player. If you create this player and you can do everything you want to do, you are probably going to create Kevin Durant. So, he's special. Both of those guys are special. I don't think either is out here playing for the title of best player in the world. They are playing for a title. An NBA title."

Couldn't have said it any better.

As for this debate, it's pretty clear that LeBron is still the best. We saw the same stuff last year when people called Stephen Curry the best player in the league over LeBron. Last year's Finals changed all of that.

This year's Finals shouldn't change anyone's opinion on who the better player is. Obviously, I can see KD or someone else taking over the throne within the next few years as LeBron ages. As for right now though, I don't think this is a debate at all.
