This is odd timing, and it would conflict with Magic Johnson’s assessment that Lonzo Ball reminds him of himself.

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly souring on Ball by the day, with the latest report suggesting that if the NBA Draft were held today, team brass would pass on the former UCLA star.

The news piggybacks a report from Basketball Insiders' Steven Kyler, who believes Lonzo must kill it in his June 7 workout with the Lakers to remain the team’s top choice.
With reports surfacing that the LA Lakers and former UCLA guard Lonzo Ball have finalized the details of a workout and face to face meeting in LA next week, there is a growing sense that unless Lonzo absolutely blows the doors off, he may not be the Lakers’ guy. The Lakers are weeks away from needing to make their final decision, but there are many that believe the Lakers could go after both Kansas forward Josh Jackson and Kentucky guard De’Aaron Fox (who made my Mock at 2 this week) with the second overall pick.
I still get the sense this is more of a smokescreen than anything, but the whispers are growing louder by the day, and Ball could be on his way to Philadelphia if the narrative doesn’t change.
