LeBron James is officially the “King of LA” whether he wants to be or not, because there’s no backing out now. James put his name on the dotted line, signing his new four-year, $154 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, officially starting the #LABron era.

His agent Rich Paul tweeted out a photo of the transaction with James flanked by Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka.

Lakers team president of basketball operations Magic Johnson released a statement celebrating the deal and predicting an NBA Finals appearance.
“This is a great day for the Lakers organization and Lakers fans all over the world to welcome LeBron James, a three-time NBA champions and four-time NBA MVP. LeBron James is special. He is the best player in the world. He loves to compete and is an awesome leader who is about winning and making sure that his teammates are successful. The Lakers players are excited to have a teammate who has been to nine NBA Finals. It’s a huge step closer to returning the Lakers to the playoffs and to the NBA Finals.”
