The Los Angeles Lakers are now a new team and are working towards getting younger after trading away Derek Fisher, Jason Kapono, and Luke Walton in exchange to get Ramon Sessions, Jordan Hill, and Christian Eyenga.

What really has gotten most Laker fans is the departure of D-Fish, who has been a very important part of the Purple and Gold to get them five championships this past decade.

"We know it's a business," forward Matt Barnes told ESPN Los Angeles. "After losing L.O. (Lamar Odom) earlier in the season, losing Fish was definitely a big shock to everybody on the team, but we know that we have to keep it moving."

Head coach, Mike Brown, says he never informed anyone about the trades; not even Kobe Bryant for his opinion, even about Fisher.

"I didn't speak to him at all about it," he said.

Barnes said he spoke to Fisher on the day of the trade.

"He was just shocked like the rest of us were and he was just praying that things worked out for us and for him," Barnes said.

Fisher was traded to the Houston Rockets, as he will most likely get a buyout. He will be able to re-sign with LA on July 1, but it seems very unlikely.

"He's going to do great wherever he goes," Steve Blake said. "He's that type of guy."

I wish the best to Fisher on what he plans to do to finish out his NBA career. The best bet for him is to retire after this season. He already has taken a big role in the lockout and is going to be great as one of the key members of the players association.
