New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has grown irritated with his locker room constantly being in disarray.  With that, he came up with a family-type bonding situation.

In a report from USA Today, Ryan sent quarterback Mark Sanchez, cornerback Darrelle Revis, backup quarterback Tim Tebow, wide receiver Santonio Holmes and 15 other Jets players to a “leadership training” seminar in Bedminster, N.J.

The players had the joy of being excused from practice to go bond together from 8 A.M. until 2 P.M. Ryan stated he got the idea after Jets coaches and him took the same seminar in early June.

“We just had such a great experience as a coaching staff, and I’m hoping the players have the same kind of experience we had,” Ryan said. “It was great. It was something I felt all of us gained some things out of. You saw a lot about each other. I thought it was good.”

I think it was a good gesture by Ryan, one that should have happened  two seasons ago. There were several reports over the past few season about how bad and dysfunctional the Jets locker room is. Newly retired and recent Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson stated last year that the Jets locker room was “as bad as I’ve ever been around, honestly.”

Time will tell if the seminar worked at all.
