It is for sure the Pittsburgh Pirates won’t get a playoff berth they dreamed of this year, I mean come on, they are 39-50. Unless if they completely change things around enormously in a good way, then I believe they actually have a shot.

With the San Francisco Giants having a much much better record than Pittsburgh with 49-40, ESPN Accuscore has said that the Pirates are the favorites to win, but not only because they are in Pittsburgh playing this game, you also got Garrett Jones having the best chance in the game to hit a homer with 24 percent.

Yep, it’s all going good for Pittsburgh.

They won yesterday of course as well, with a 2-1 victory. It’s going to be a showdown today with Barry Zito for San-Fran and Charlie Morton for Pitt. Garrett Jones looks to tear it up on Zito as he has hit five homers in the last four games.

Can this kid continue his streak?

It’s also going to be tough for Morton as he has been struggling with Pittsburgh lately this year. He took place in the trade that sent Nate McLouth to Atlanta.

About ten days ago, Morton did absolutely horrible as he was destroyed by the Houston Astros while giving up five runs and ten hits to them.

“I’ve got to take the bad things that happened and learn from them,” Morton said.

It’s going to be a fun game to watch so let’s enjoy it to the fullest. Watch out for Garrett Jones with a ball flying out of the park, because it’s going to happen.

Barry Zito, prepared to be kill-oed (wow, that was stupid).
