The Yanks look to pay their star player within 24-to-48 hours. The contract looks to be worth $17 million per year with fourth year option, which would be a lower salary.
Jeter was coming off a ten-year, $189 million deal. He was recently offered three-year, $45 million contract, but the Yanks look to bring that offer up now.
There's a good possibility the deal will get done maybe tonight.
