If you haven't read the hit book from last summer, Pacific Rims, then you obviously don't know big basketball is in the Philippines. A lot of people consider them to be a soccer country, or a boxing one (thanks to Manny Pacquiao), but however, this is a basketball country.

This country has probably the biggest fans who love playing with an orange ball on hardwood floor. And now, this time looks to grab a big name from the States in Andre Iguodala.

Iguodala is known for his flashy dunks and highlights with the Philadelphia 76ers, helping lead the team to a playoff-berth last year. With the NBA Lockout underway, many stars are looking to play overseas for this season.

Deron Williams has already been rumored to play in Turkey and Kobe Bryant could head over to China. Iguodala looks like he'll be going to the Philippines, according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer:
Sources said officials of Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas has already forwarded an offer for the NBA Stars to meet the Gilas five in exhibition matches set on July 25 and 26 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Other players rumored have also been Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, and Mario Chalmers! And also, rumors say that former NBA star Chris Webber could also join, who has been retired for the past few years.

Says the Inquirier:
Reports said that Talk 'N Text coach Chot Reyes has been spearheading the negotiations with former NBA star Chris Webber.
Man, are the Philippines going big or what? Could Kobe join with them, since he could be heading overseas, most likely near the Philippines in the Asian area?

"Everything is still up in the air," said Butch Antonio, MVP Sports Foundation head for basketball. "The press conference scheduled on Friday is for us to be ready just in case the project pushes through. The dates are tentative. We'll finalize as we go along."

Things are going good overseas.

Here in the States? Not so much. Let's end this lockout now. Guys are leaving...quickly!!!!
