The Cincinnati Bengals have now released safety Chris Crocker today. The 32-year-old safety was a veteran team leader on defense, and finished with 61 tackles last season.

Crocker was released not due to talent, but because of his durability since he has struggled to stay healthy since he his injury in 2010.

Crocker played every game last year and missed just 47 of the 1,066 defensive snaps for Cincy.

"I know as a player I feel a certain way but not everybody in the building felt the same way," Crocker told the Cincinnati Enquirer. "This was one of the best stops of my career. I got to go to the playoffs two of my three full seasons here."

Crocker's last moment was when he allowed Houston Texans' Arian Foster to score a 42-yard-touchdown during the Wild Card round of last year's playoffs.

"It's sad that I don't have a chance to redeem myself," he said.
