34-year-old golfer Luke Donald almost had himself disqualified today after a fax machine misread his score card during the 2012 Masters Tournament. Donald, who is the No. 1 ranked player in the world, shot a 75 in the first round.

The fax machine read the score wrong and had it at 73. However, it improperly read as there was a little smudge on the score. Had Donald put 73 on the scorecard himself, he would have been disqualified.

Donald struggled yesterday, and managed to score a 38 on the front-nine before faltering in the back.

"This place ... you know if you are a little off, it can eat you up,'' said Donald. "My preparation has been as good as it's ever been. I almost wanted to start on the weekend because I was hitting it so nicely. Maybe I peaked a couple of days early. Hopefully, I will find something on the range and go low tomorrow.''

Ah, those damn machines.
