The New England Patriots have been working out several running backs now since they can't re-sign BenJarvus Green-Ellis. They have already worked out Tim Hightower and Ryan Grant.

Now they also appear interested in Joseph Addai. New England remembers Addai well, mostly from 2007 when he got the game-winning touchdown on them in the AFC Championship.

Since then, Addai has been injury-prone and has struggled as of recent, as he hasn't posted a 1,000-yard season since his sophomore year in the 2007-08 season.

According to the Boston Globe, they worked out the veteran running back today.

Addai was released last month as the Colts went into their rebuilding project. I wouldn't be surprised if he's signed and starts, as he is a blocking/receiving back, which is what New England really uses since they are such a pass-focused team.

I wish the best to Addai with his career. Let's see what he does if he goes to the Pats. It will benefit him, since they have done well with veteran backs.
