At the age of 71, NBA legend and now Hall-of-Famer Don Nelson finally graduated from the University of Iowa 50 years after leaving.

Nelson graduated with a degree in physical education. Nelson only needed to finish eight hours of Spanish and a student teaching requirement to graduate.

This year, the University of Iowa finally agreed to waive off the student teaching requirement due to him coaching for 30 plus years.

Nelson is the all time winningest coach in NBA history with 1,355 victories. Nelson said he was inspired by Shaquille O'Neal, who recently graduated from LSU and getting a doctorate at Barry University.

What an awesome way to graduate for Don Nelson. Congrats to Nellie for going back and finishing what he started.
