The New York Knicks were rumored to go after Phil Jackson this off-season to be their head coach, finishing his NBA career of where he started.
However, the Knicks made the decision that comes to no surprise to many, as they signed Mike Woodson to a multi-year extension according to RealGM.
Woodson served as the interim coach for the Knicks after Mike D'Antoni got fired mid-season. Woodson did well, along with bringing the Knicks their first playoff-win in over a decade, which earned him the new contract.
Frank Isola of The New York Daily News says the deal is for three years.

“Mike took over the team under challenging circumstances
and made it clear, starting on day one, that he was going to hold every
player on our roster accountable,” said owner James Dolan. “We saw a significant improvement
since Mike took over and believe our team will only keep improving under
Mike’s direction."
Woodson was 18-6 in the regular season filling in for D'Antoni.
“Mike has the respect of every person in this
organization,” Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations and
General Manager Glen Grunwald said. “He and his staff led the team in an
impressive push into the playoffs over the last 24 games and we believe
he is the right man to lead the franchise as we move forward.”
Great signing by the Knicks, in my opinion.
