After recently being invited by Pete Carroll for a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks, Brian Banks gladfully accepted, saying it was the "second-best day of his life."

After attending Thursday's one-day tryout, Banks was offered a few more days after showing some signs of impressiveness to Carroll, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"I feel more appreciative of the opportunity than I feel deserving," Banks said.

Carroll was proud of bringing Banks for a tryout.

"This is a great illustration for us of why people deserve a second chance because of what he's overcome."

Here's more from the report:

During his workout, Banks displayed a "good natural quickness" and "caught the ball real well," but was not in the kind of condition that a pro player needs to be in, Carroll said.

"So this week in particular will not be a great indication, but it will be a start and we’ll see where it goes from there," Carroll said, adding that Banks is trying out "against all odds."

When asked if Banks could make the team, Carroll said "it's very possible." Carroll's comments on Banks are also posted on the team's website, along with a news conference with Banks.

Hopefully Banks can make the team. He has the potential.
