The autopsy shows that Seau died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest from a .357 caliber.
The results determined that retired star had no drugs, alcohol or medications in his system at the time of his death. Seau’s brain and brain tissue were sent away sent to the National Institutes of Health for testing by his family.
Its unclear at this time what caused Seau to take his own life. He left behind no suicide note, and it would be irresponsible at this time to blame it on football or concussions that he suffered from while playing.
