The Minnesota Vikings have announced that star running back Adrian Peterson will start in the team's season-opener versus the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday.

"He's back! Adrian Peterson is active AND will start today for the #Vikings," the franchise posted on their Twitter account.

Peterson is currently listed as a game-time decision. The 27-year-old has been recovering from a left knee injury he suffered back in December last season.

His carries will likely be limited on Sunday, as Toby Gerhart will take some of the load.
