Josh Freeman can play this season out knowing no matter how the beginning of his year goes, his contract won’t be affected by it.

Freeman is in the final year of his deal, and according to JoeBucsFan, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won’t address the quarterback and his contract until this season is finished.

“I think there’s just a comfort level that everybody understands where Josh Freeman’s going. Let’s focus on this season, and then, we’ll go after the season’s over,” general manager Mark Dominik said.

Freeman’s best bet now is to have a consistent, and efficient season, and at worst he’ll be hit with lucrative franchise tag.
